The KASTURBHAI LALBHAI Family background

Kastrubhai was a Marwari like G.D.birla but he belonged from older and more illustrious family of Shantidas zaveri,who had been a jeweler of mughal emperor,the family had migrated from the sand of rajshthan around the time that the mughal empire extended rule over Gujarat!

Kasturbhai family propersed in trade and banking in ahmedbad, aAdocument of 1627,the year of emperor jehangir’s death , describe family as “the deceased king’s jweler”.

Shah janha who just finish the bulding taj Mahel,conferred tham robe of honour in 1956 and grant villages and havelis in ahmedbad! A document of East India Company refer tham as a NAGAR SETH mean the merchant of the city!
shantidas zaveri made a temple CHINTAMANI JAIN TEMPLE at palitana , one germen travellar worte about it “without dispute , one of the nobelest structure of the world” . but Aurngeb could not tolerate this and convert in to mosque!

Nagarseth establish two mills between 1895-1915 , but their business is in danger due to the fighting of brothers and they devide the assets! Lalbhai died of heart attack in 1912 and kasturbhi leave the study at the age of 17 and join Raipur mill!

He set up new industry in September 1947 name ATUL mean "THE INCOMPRABLE !" In march 1952 he opened the new plant of ATUL and invite JAWARLAL NAHERU for opening but he refused to come due to the socialist thinking !

LETTER TO KASTURBHAI LALBHAI

May 20, 1934

BHAI KASTURBHAI,

I have written to Chamanbhai. I hope that you will prevent  implementation of the Mill-Owners’ Association’s resolution. I will not let the tradition which has been followed for so many years be broken without sufficient reason.

The insistence on paying Mr. Patankar his fee also seems to me to be derogatory to our good name.
